So the more you zoom in, the less detail you get. If you want a higher spatial resolution, your pixels need to be smaller, meaning you need more photons per surface area to reach your sensor. If you want 24 bit instead of 4 bit color, you need 6 times as many photons per color channel to get a white pixel. If you want RGB color instead of panchromatic (B&W) you have to have triple the number of photons to get a "white" reading. Only so many photons from the sun will be reflected to a given point in space in a given time frame. Remote sensing is a balance of all of this. The other big variables are exposure time and sensor size.
